Open Water Diver Course – Port St. Joe, Florida
Our 4-day Open Water Diver certification course is designed to get you fully certified quickly, safely, and with maximum fun. Whether you’re a complete beginner or refreshing your skills, we provide everything you need to dive: full scuba equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, BCD, regulator, tanks, weights, and computer) is included in the course fee. No hidden costs for gear or shore dives—just show up ready to learn and explore.
Course Structure & Schedule
- Online E-Learning Complete the required theory at your own pace before the course begins. We strongly recommend finishing it prior to the first pool day, but it must be completed before we head to open water on Days 3–4.
- Days 1 & 2 – Confined Water (Pool) Training Two full days of hands-on skill development in our local pool in Port St. Joe. Each session is approximately 5 hours. You’ll master buoyancy control, mask clearing, regulator recovery, underwater communication, and all the essential safety procedures in a relaxed, controlled environment.
- Day 3 – Open Water Dives 1–3 We travel to Vortex Springs (one of Florida’s most beautiful freshwater springs) for your first three open-water dives. The gin-clear water, consistent 68–72 °F temperature year-round, and shallow, sheltered environment make it the perfect classroom for building confidence and practicing skills.
- Day 4 – Open Water Dive 4 The grand finale! We head to Panama City Beach for your fourth and final certification dive. We will do a scenic shore dive at the jetties in St. Andrews State Park (included in the course). If conditions are ideal and you prefer, you may upgrade to a boat dive for an additional fee (not included in the course price). Either way, you’ll experience the thrill of the open Gulf—colorful marine life, natural reefs, and the feeling of true freedom underwater.
