Why night dive?
After dark, coral reefs change shifts. Octopus come out to hunt, along with crabs, lobster, eels and other creatures that hide during the day, and you see behavior and colors you'll never see on a daytime dive. It's not scary. Night diving feels a lot like day diving, with a different cast of creatures.
An easy add-on certification
Night Diver is one of the easiest specialty certifications to earn. It's a natural add-on to your Advanced Open Water Diver course or other certified-diver courses; just add a set of night dives on another weekend or during a trip.
How we run it
Our standard format, included in the course price, is an in-person classroom session followed immediately by your night dive. Online PADI eLearning is optional, not required, and costs extra if you choose it. Rental lights are included, so you don't need to buy one to take the course, though we do recommend owning your own light.
Counts toward Master Scuba Diver
Night Diver is one of the 5 specialties toward PADI Master Scuba Diver, which also requires PADI Rescue Diver and 50 logged dives. With SDI, it can count toward SDI Master Scuba Diver: 4 specialties (SDI/TDI/ERDI or equivalent), SDI Rescue Diver and 50 logged dives.
